My Story

In the 2010s, central banks around the world engaged in quantitative easing, colloquially referred to as 'money printing'. Market participants opined for years about what that meant, without offering a concise explanation of how this core of the financial system works.

A first principles understanding was absent, so I investigated money and its creation - a topic on which one finds even more disparate opinions. From the incoherent views of gold bugs and crypto bros, to seasoned professionals and fund managers - few were ever taught or concerned themselves with the most important thing in economics: money.

Something was missing
...

This is when I identified not just how money is created by government and bank entities, but rediscovered the long-lost concept of debasement. I subsequently found a way to quantify it and created the most reliable measure of value over centuries. The debasement index does not just encapsulate how money creation has evolved and works, but sheds light onto the real trends that have been obfuscated by exponential movements in the denominator of assets: currency.

Meanwhile, with the rising prominence of blockchains as an asset class, I started investigating the world of blockchain, cutting through the noise and gaining a deep understanding of its potential. Through my insights into money creation, I recognise the threat of retail CBDCs and share my view that blockchain will develop a new financial and IT system from the bottom up, through an internet layer, upon which stablecoins can act as a form of payment.

With this in mind, I am focused on enabling the micro-economy through one of my entrepreneurial ventures, leveraging Web 3.0 technologies that will create a paradigm shift in the efficiency of payments and information (tokens).
